100% of our pupils who took an Arts Mark Award achieved a pass, with 65% at Bronze and 35% at Silver.

Through arts integration, students use alternative ways to make sense of content they are learning and to demonstrate their understanding. This can be achieved through music, drawing, colouring, using playdough-clay, painting, spaghetti shapes, magazine collages and role play.

These techniques are useful in helping a student be calm and restore positive mental well-being, communicate feelings or thoughts they find difficult to talk about, and to look at a problem or situation in a new way and explore difficult or painful experiences.

This can be incorporated into almost any lesson for all age groups.

My name is SC, I made the globe theatre out of Lego, I drew a portrait of the famous Shakespeare, I incorporated reading comprehension and with support answered various questions. Using a cut and paste activity, I put together using paper, part of Shakespeare’s home.

International Happiness Week.

The student incorporated various structures:  Pebbles and stones-to make an image of themselves, balloons to write their information inside about what makes them happy, and a hand to decorate and explain “who supports them” when they are sad.

1st Staff firmly believe that every child and young person in our service should have the opportunity to explore and develop their unique creative talents. We recognise that artistic expression is a fundamental skill and an integral part of a well-rounded education. As such, we are proud to provide every pupil we work with the opportunity to participate in the Trinity College London Arts Award program. This structured framework encourages students to delve into their artistic talents and achieve their full potential.

The Trinity College Arts Award program offers a progressive qualification that has consistently been shown to prepare students for further education. The suite of Arts Awards we offer ranges from Explore and Discovery to Bronze, Silver, and Gold, catering to a wide spectrum of artistic interests and abilities. Each pupil is evaluated independently to identify their starting level, and upon completing each Arts Award, they are empowered to progress as far as they are able within their time with us.

Once a pupils achievement level has been determined, they are provided with independently planned tasks tailored to their specific interests and the skills they wish to develop. Our highly skilled arts coordinators are adept at planning and delivering high-quality lessons that consider each pupils unique learning needs. We foster an environment where pupils feel encouraged to express themselves creatively and pursue their artistic passions.

Our commitment to providing exceptional arts education is evident in our dedicated staff and our arts coordinators who are passionate about nurturing the next generation of creative minds. We believe that every pupil has the potential to excel in the arts, and we are committed to providing them with the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential.

We invite you to explore our arts curriculum and discover the many ways in which we can help your child develop their creative talents. We are confident that your child will thrive in our supportive and nurturing environment, where they will be empowered to express themselves creatively and gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in any field they choose.
