Concealed Prohibited Items (Belief of Possession): If a staff member reasonably believes a student has a prohibited item concealed (without visual confirmation), they will immediately contact the parent/carer. The parent/carer will be asked to come to the site to search the student and remove the item, or to collect their child from the site.
Visible Prohibited Items: If a staff member sees a student with a prohibited item in plain sight:
· If the student complies: The staff member will calmly ask the student to hand over the item. The parent/carer will be informed, and asked to collect the item or it will be safely disposed of.
· If the student refuses: The staff member will immediately contact the parent/carer. The parent/carer will be requested to come to the site to address the situation, search the student, and remove the item, or to collect their child from the site.
Zero Tolerance for Smoking (including Vapes and E-Cigarettes)
If a student is observed smoking (including using vapes or e-cigarettes), we will contact their parent/carer and ask them to collect their child from the site.
