We have proven experience in delivery of Post 16 tuition to numerous local authorities across the UK. These are predominantly for pupils with an EHCP and therefore, dependent on needs, will be in place up to pupils are 25 years old or until another agreed point in their education.
Currently there are also some pupils that we support that are over the age of 16 but are part of a medical tuition service that we provide as well. We work with local partners to deliver education appropriate for the individual pupil and if there is a particular subject or level that the young person wants to study, we would collaborate with local partners to share resources and enable pupils to sit formal external exams.
1st Staff works with pupils to secure an appropriate future pathway for each young person that we support. With all young people that were post 16 in 2023-24, we had 100% progression into employment, education or training away from the secondary school and supported them throughout the start of the next academic year to ensure that they were successful in that key transition.
For some learners it was deemed appropriate to continue the individual tuition, the approach taken with Post 16 pupils is highly personalised and includes key life skills such as setting up a bank account, independent travel, budgeting and where appropriate these are underpinned by a relevant qualification such as ASDAN.
